The Beverly Hills Method is to ASK and ANSWER these QUESTIONS:
1.
What do you NEED?
2.
What gets in the WAY of what you NEED?
3.
Why CAN’T you get what you NEED?
4.
Who, What, When, Where, Why and How can you get what you NEED?
Easier said than done right? Having a coach makes it all happen; no one else has the time or patience to make it really fall into place for you step by step like a life coach.
The Beverly Hills Method is to Experience:
1.
Recovery (and true spirituality) as simply becoming who you REALLY are,
(Because that is really why you are here, for your eternal soul to manifest as personality)
2.
Bringing your unique presence into full being is the major INTERVENTION tool that you have. (Fully being you releases all stress and anxiety)
3.
A balanced system of recovery using the Wheel of Life. (What is MISSING in your life . . . love . . . fulfillment . . . the right work . . . health . . . fun . . . sex . . . friends?)
4.
The core steps are to balance the five elements of recovery in your life to create your own unique presence. (Stop trying to be something you are not and you won't need chemicals) The AA Judeo-Christian hegemony is fine, but does not work for everyone.
The Beverly Hills Method Will Enable You to:
1.
Have the backbone and balls to know and clearly state your position, whether it is popular or not. And have the heart to stay engaged in your relationship with the world, reach out to continually learn and grow even when that relationship is mired in conflict.
2.
Remain more committed to attaining your goal than to easing your discomfort in the moment through reacting, using chemicals or other non-goal oriented behavior.
3.
Become familiar with your own areas of vulnerability that cause you to react subconsciously in knee jerk reactions.
4.
Have tolerance for the anxiety of others and yourself, which is one of the hallmarks of presence. (Aplomb is complete and confident composure or self-assurance)
The Beverly Hills Method of Self-Mastery:
1.
Is the repeated experiments of a highly mobilized, motivated and resourceful person that leads to developing emotional muscles and self-control.
2.
Increasing your tolerance means strengthening an emotional muscle that can hold on in that void.
3.
Once you understand what causes your response, you can learn to link your reaction to a specific trigger.
4.
Choosing a worthy goal is a necessary condition of unique presence.
The amount of time you spend confronting and tolerating your reactivity can vary: fifteen seconds, or one hour, or three days. Think of it as increasing the strength and stamina of your tolerance muscle. Investing in gaining greater tolerance for moments of reactivity can lead you to discover a more rewarding recovery coaching experience instead of the same old action-reaction-counteraction. You experience yourself as an adventurer in a land few travel by enduring reactivity long enough for the new breakthrough moment to occur. You cannot have this breakthrough by repeating the same old responses.
By being unintimidated by and able to tolerate my own anxiety, addictions and reactive behavior, I show my clients it is possible to hold and tolerate their own anxiety. Over time they learn to trust that they can in fact tolerate their anxiety on their own.
Do the things in your life bear a relevancy to your life? Do the objects of your attention bring immediacy to the moment, or are they merely a distraction to ease your anxiety?
Stressful situations elicit reactive responses. The solution is to refocus on the goal. The power is gained by accessing the eternal and infinite soul that is within us all. The method is to bring this ancient wisdom into our own unique presence.
The Beverly Hills Method of Recovery will enable you to see yourself as you really are, not as you think you are, or as your friends may tell you you are.
This is how Dean McAdams was able to completely change his life when true self awareness broke across his nascent consciousness at a Malibu in-patient drug, alcohol, and substance abuse treatment center for co-occuring disorders on January 21, 2004.
The only real change is self change.
The five elements of total quality recovery are:
1. Physical Sobriety, 2. Mental Sobriety, 3. Emotional Sobriety,
4. Spiritual Sobriety, and 5. Sexual Sobriety.
